Today’s podcast is very special. I sat down and did a recording  with my mother – Mary Mattson – of Kirkland, WA

Mom grew up in Indiana, met my dad in Missouri and moved to Washington state in the 1950’s. During the recording, we talk about family, faith and boats (you see, my dad was kind of a boat nut). It was a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it!

Our family’s 1955, 38′ twin screw Richardson (carvel planked) sedan – the last and biggest boat we had while I was growing up. This was one seaworthy and fun rig!

Our beloved 1961 Chris Connie 28' twin screw bomb. She was seaworth, fast and carvel planked.

Today is a very special podcast. After hearing another podcaster talk about interviewing his mom for his podcast and how it was a big hit – I decided to do the same thing 😀

My mom – Mary Mattson – is older than me (I’m 60) LOL – and was married to my father for over 50 years until he went to be with the Lord a few years ago. Mom is a woman of faith, prayer, and, well, boats – she was around a lot of boats because that was what my father was into from the time he was a little tike.

In this episode my mom talks about our family history and Christian faith, a little about my youth, and some of the fun boating activities we did as a family in the 60’s and 70’s. Enjoy!
