HOWB 144 – Interview | Scott Rohrer on the “R” Boat “Pirate” at Center for Wooden Boats

by admin on October 9, 2014

On this week’s episode I had the opportunity to sit down with Scott Rohrer, volunteer at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle, and discuss the fascinating history and pedigree and the famed R boat – Pirate.

Pirate has a long and storied history including being a direct descendant of Ted Geary’s design R class boat Sir Tom which was one of the winningest boats in history.

Thank you, Dan. I really enjoyed meeting you and telling more of Pirate’s great story. I never tire of this wonderful girl and her 88 year saga.
